Just Call Me Lady

My story is not just another transgender person’s “transition” story — it’s a story of my completion as a happy human. Born thinking I was a little girl in Glasgow Scotland. Until mainstream society’s rude awakening forced me to live as a boy for survival. I will talk about my journey of discovery with humour, and sometimes shocking honesty during some disturbingly touching life events.

Later in life, I forgive myself for allowing society to force me to live as a well-rehearsed but invented character. I finally find completion by allowing the little girl from my past to live again. Live again with all the parts of myself that I discovered and invented along the way. From the school bullying, adventures with the sea cadets, college life, camp counseling, music theatre, a server in gay bars, performing as a drag queen, becoming a male stripper and agent, sex worker and transgender advocate. My story provides many life messages and discoveries that may educate the mainstream or reach young transgender and queer people who may not be feeling complete.
