Why I Run

On October 23 I will be taking the stage at momondays Barrie and then again in Toronto on November 20. This will be momondays Number 5 and 6 for me. Four years ago if you would have told me I would be doing public speaking I would have laughed at you. But now I am doing speaking events at least 3 times a month. 4 years ago if you would have told me I would have written a book about “How I won my life back from the darkness of depression” a would have laughed even louder. But I have sold over 2000 copies of my book “Why I Run”. I have done 8 radio interviews, 2 TV appearances, countless book signings.

If you would have told me I would now be living a life of purpose and that purpose is to break the stigma behind depression and help as many people as I can who are suffering in silence I would have never believed you! If I was to tell you that I am finally living my dream of being myself and it is nothing like I have ever imagined, Would you believe me? Come out to Momondays Barrie and hear my story “Why I Run” My story of how I won my Life back from the darkness of depression and find out!

“Only with open conversation can we kill the stigma behind depression, Lets start talking and kill it together”

For 25 or more years I was a professional bass player playing in many types of bands, teaching and making a living from music. At the same time, I was also working full time in a music store. In 2013 the perfect storm happened in my life and pushed me over the edge. I had suffered for over 38 years from depression and I had to make a call for help! Which was the hardest thing I have every done. For more about Darcy, visit http://https://www.darcypatrick.com/.
